Springtime

Worked for a week on Office Christmas Party, then a day on Chicago Fire and then booked a couple photo shoots through my talent agency all within a several weeks of each other. Love it when the work comes in all at once, very grateful.

Working with Lance Gilbert, Troy Gilbert, and Joey Bucaro on Office Christmas Party was a great experience. Every time I'm on set with experienced Stunties, I always feel I walk away with a little more knowledge. I love being on set and just learning and seeing what a coordinator has to do to make things work.

I was able to shadow Tom on Chicago PD a few times and the things he told me about the politics, planning scenes, working with actors then getting the doubles in....let's just say there is a hell of a LOT of "what ifs" that the coordinator has to plan and be ready for. But I learned back in LA from a producer who spoke at the Stunt Women Stunt Coordinator Conference that the main thing a coordinator needs to do is to be ON TIME and UNDER BUDGET. She stressed that so much. Also, the coordinator is one of the most important positions that needs to be filled because they are in charge of the safety of the entire set. It was interesting to hear, something that is obvious, but actually hearing a top producer say these things solidifies it. She also said that there is so much work being done now that sometimes it's even hard to book coordinators because they're all working! Another nice thing to hear, that there is a lot of work ahead.

Enough reflection time, time to learn something, train, and make myself a little better than I was yesterday.

Time. Patience. Persistence. It's a long journey, but I'm enjoying every step, every fall, every triumph, and I'm not stopping anytime soon. I am stronger than I was at this time last year, I have more knowledge and experience, I am staying true to myself and giving my all.

What's next: Training, a couple auditions, and then Rick Seamen's Driving Clinic in LA.
