I am a SAG-AFTRA stunt performer, first SAG-AFTRA job being on Chicago PD doubling Sophia Bush, then ND Stunts on Fire, and now doubling Dora Madison Burge this season on Chicago Fire.
Last fall, the live show I traveled to perform in over in Branson, Missouri was a western stunt show called The Pinkerton Man. I played an outlaw that kidnaps the mayors daughter, fights the sheriff, and gets shot so hard that I fly through saloon doors! For this stunt I was attached to a yank back device that would make it look like I got shot so hard that the bullet makes me fly through saloon doors! Pretty fun to do 3 times a day. I also understudied the main hero, so I trained with horses, a slide for life that was 32 feet in the air sliding over the audience, bull whip, and, of course, some good ol' nitty gritty fight training. I didn't get to play the character for an audience, which is good because that would mean my fellow teammate was injured, so it's a blessing she never needed me, sucked to not actually perform the character live, though. HOWEVER, I still had a blast during rehearsals and full on run thrus when I did play the hero, of course. Who doesn't want to be the lead hero?!
Currently, I am determined to continue training, fighting, and learning, no matter what I am doing in life, no matter what work comes to me. I believe there is always more to learn, more to accomplish, and goals are a good thing to help people push themselves to the next level. How am I doing this? With Gymnastics classes, Parkour classes, filming fights with other stunt people, weight training, cardio, bikram yoga (for flexibility), and anything else, including improv classes and I am going to take another on camera class soon.
I have already lived in 3 other countries, got paid to perform in 5 live show contracts in these countries, I've had stunt doubling gigs on major television shows, I'm SAG-AFTRA stunt performer, and I'm not stopping or settling for anything!
Rock!
